These skills are typically listed in the &#8220;requirements&#8221; section or within the &#8220;responsibilities&#8221; description.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For industry-specific questions, Eldridge recommends practicing articulating your answers in a clear, non-technical way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I really love finding individuals who can take an accounting concept and break it down to explain it to a non-accounting professional,&#8221; she says. &#8220;Today, having interpersonal and teaching skills is huge for being a well-developed professional.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-behavioral-questions\">Behavioral Questions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The interviewer may also ask <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theforage.com\/blog\/interview-questions\/behavioral-interview-questions\">behavioral questions<\/a>. These are questions about times you&#8217;ve applied your skills and worked with others to bring results. These questions are typically situational, like &#8220;Tell me about a time when\u2026&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAccountants often encounter complex problems that require <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theforage.com\/blog\/skills\/analytical-skills\">analytical thinking<\/a> and critical thinking skills,\u201d Barrus says. \u201cHighlight situations where you identified a financial issue, proposed a solution, and successfully implemented it. This demonstrates your ability to think critically and provide value to employers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll want to use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theforage.com\/blog\/interview-questions\/star-method-interview\">STAR method<\/a> to structure these answers: first describe the situation and task you had to do, then your action, and finally, the results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-questions-about-career-interests\">Questions About Career Interests<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, you may get questions about your career interests and how doing this internship would contribute to your long-term career goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While you don&#8217;t need to have a perfect five-year plan, this is where researching the company and the position helps.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How do the projects the company&#8217;s working on relate to your interests? Are you especially interested in its mission? The industry?
