My Future in Moreton Bay

Welcome to Moreton Bay Regional Council’s virtual career experience program, My future In Moreton Bay.

This program is an initiative of Moreton Bay’s Regional Economic Development Strategy 2020-41 (REDS), which articulates Council’s plans to transform and modernise the Moreton Bay economy over the next two decades, by making the region bigger, bolder, and brighter.

  • Bigger-By building a $40 billion economy.
  • Bolder-By creating 100,000 new jobs and attracting 16,000 new businesses.
  • Brighter-By becoming a top 10 Australia regional knowledge and innovation hub.o

Why Virtual Work Experiences

To help achieve the REDS goals above, Council has partnered with The Forage, an international leader in virtual work experience, to develop modules for careers in our region’s four priority industries:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Food and Agri-business
  • Tourism, Sport and Major Events
  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship

As the third-largest Council in Australia, Moreton Bay is home to more than 29,500 local businesses. This work experience program will boost workforce pathways for our local businesses and help to foster a generation of young residents seeking employment in our region.

The free program includes eight (8) bite-sized modules, each taking approximately 1-2 hours to complete, 100% online. On completion, participants will receive a digital certificate to assist with job prospecting.

Join us in making our region bigger, brighter and bolder. Start your first virtual work experience now!
