Your role

You are a junior member of DLA Piper’s Global Data Protection and Cybersecurity team. Your role is to provide research support and prepare first drafts of emails and advice notes to assist the team in delivering exceptional client service.
You work within a diverse, highly skilled team of data privacy and cybersecurity experts who frequently advise clients on responding to cyberattacks, an increasingly common threat.
You have recently assisted Raccine, a major client, on several key projects, including updating their website privacy policies for some of their biggest brands.
While working with Raccine, you collaborated closely with the head of its Data Protection Legal team but have not yet met the General Counsel.
You’ve now been assigned to support Raccine as they navigate a critical data breach and ransomware incident, providing essential legal guidance to the General Counsel and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Your goal

Your primary objective is to assist Raccine in responding to the data breach effectively, balancing legal obligations with reputational considerations.
You will conduct legal assessments, draft client communications, and provide strategic advice on regulatory compliance and risk management, gaining hands-on experience in cyber incident advisory.
