I liked that the simulation provided a practical insight into the type of work involved in financial services. The activities helped me understand how financial analysis, reporting, risk management and decision-making are applied in a real-world setting. It was also a good opportunity to develop my practical skills and better understand the work environment at Goldman Sachs.

I particularly enjoyed calculating the NAV for Class A and Class C as it showed me how contributions, distributions, management fees, and net income affect a fund’s value. Applying these concepts in Excel helped me understand how Controllers use accurate calculations to support reliable investor reporting something I had never had exposure to before.

I enjoyed this task because it was practical and easy to follow. Each step built on the previous one, from calculating history-to-date balances to determining the NAV. It highlighted how contributions, distributions, fees, and income affect a fund's value while emphasizing the importance of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting.
