I really enjoyed the practical approach to robotics and control engineering. Working with Python libraries like SciPy and NumPy to simulate and validate control systems gave me a solid, real-world understanding of the technical challenges faced by interns at Johnson & Johnson. The structure of the design proposal template was also excellent for learning professional documentation standards.

I liked that the simulation provided a practical and structured way to identify problems and test design improvements. It helped me understand how changes in efficiency and durability can affect the robotic arm’s responsiveness and reliability. I also found the combination of diagnostics, simulation, and design optimization useful for understanding real-world robotics engineering.

The simulation gave me the opportunity to experience the role of a surgical robotics engineer by analysing a robotic system, identifying performance issues, and proposing design improvements.
