What I enjoyed most about the simulation was applying technical tax regulations directly to realistic client financial data and Excel reconciliation workpapers. It provided valuable hands-on experience in both technical tax accounting and communicating value-add automation tools like Alteryx and Tableau directly to client leadership.

I enjoyed how the simulation gave me a better understanding of what a tax associate does in a real work environment. I especially liked working on book-to-tax differences, calculating taxable income, and reviewing client documents. It helped me apply what I learned in my accounting classes to real-world situations and learn more about the tax preparation process.

It gave me a clear picture of what the day-to-day actually looks like on an engagement. Being able to put classroom concepts to work on a realistic client file, while having to think through both the technical adjustments and the client communication, really confirmed that tax associate is the right path for me.
