I was excited to gain insight into the real work of a Weil, Gotshal & Manges trainee. Delving from macro-economic context into the micro legal analysis of NDA clause carve-outs, building full transaction structure charts and applying specific statutory provisions to determine legal status of companies -- felt less of a chore and more of a chess game.

I liked the structure of the program. Following the same company throughout the program made me feel as though I was participating in a real case, leaning into the idea of what work may look like in the firm. It gave me an idea of how multi-layered a single case can be, from financing to restructuring etc.

I really enjoyed the practical aspect of the program. While it is quite daunting at first being thrown into the different scenarios, especially having not looked at any problems like them before, it really helps develop both your ability of completing the tasks, but also your confidence in being able to tackle more challenging situations in the future.
